Founded by Filipo Della Valle, Tod's has a long tradition as a quality shoe and accessory maker. A small shoe factory at the turn of the century, Tod's began as a family-run business known for producing fine leather footwear.
In 1970, Filipo Della Valle's small family shoe business was expanded by grandson Diego. Diego Della Valle joined the company and developed the business to include luxury leather goods such as belts, gloves and handbags. Eventually Diego added brands FAY and Hogan to the Tod's family, thereby constructing a business group large enough to lead the luxury leather goods industry under the name of Tod's.
