Hermes Hand Bags
Jane Birkin, a model and actress, was hoping to see her name on a marquee rather than a designer handbag. But, as chance would have it, in 1984, she found herself sitting next to Jean-Louis Duman, the president of Hermes, on an airplane. During the flight, Duman commented on the actresses difficulty with her large tote bag filled with everything she needed for herself and her young daughter. Their conversation led Duman to design a handbag that would suit the needs of a young woman and mother - hence the Birkin Bag was created!
